Growing A Set

Long War: Our only hope is that Obama grows a set. Therefore we need to study past examples of US Presidents who started with small stones but then grew a set. Yesterday I gave the example of JFK who had small stones during the Bay of Pigs and then grew a set during the Cuban Missile Crisis. I also said that Jimmy Carter was weak and that was a bit unfair. After the Soviets invaded Afghanistan Carter grew a tremendous set of stones. In fact this was the greatest expansion of Presidential stones on record. Carter went from stones the size of grape seeds to walnuts. He was the architect of the policy that brought the Soviets down: arming the mujaheddin, which caused problems later in the form of Al-Qaeda, but at the time was necessary.

As far as Libya is concerned, if Obama could get it together, an air war would easily wipe Gaddafi off the map and very quickly. Right now Gaddafi's army and supply lines are stretched for hundreds of miles in armored columns along roads that hug the Mediterranean coast. His air defenses are very weak. A-10 Warthogs would cut through his primitive armor like a hot knife through butter. And the US is not overly stretched as far as the equipment needed for an air war.

Best of all, Libyan Rage Rebels are desperately reaching out to anybody they think can help. Gaddafi is begining to capture and display Al-Qaeda fighters from within the ranks of the retreating Rage Rebel forces. The Rebel leadership does not want to turn to the bad guys, but is forced to do so by circumstance. They will be happy to accept massive CIA presence and direction. It all depnds on Obama regaining his nerve.
